27 verses from 1 Peter
1 Peter is rich with theology, encouragement, and practical instruction. Located in modern-day Turkey, Peter's original audience of "elect exiles" found that living for Christ came at a high social cost (1 Pet. 1:1). They were "zealous for what is good" (1 Pet. 3:13), yet they often faced backlash in the family, in the marketplace, and on the job. Christianity was technically legal, but the culture was increasingly hostile to the things of God.
Over the course of five chapters, 1 Peter provides a blueprint for how Christians should respond to persecution. Peter highlights key things to remember, including our new identity and Christ's example of suffering, as well as key things to do, such as love and serve others. Perhaps most importantly, we are reminded of our future hope and the promise that God will one day put an end to all suffering (1 Pet. 5:10).
This memory course includes 27 key verses from across all five chapters of 1 Peter. Each of the seven lessons covers one of the book's main themes. Devotional material is also included with each lesson to aid your study of God's Word.
