Program Administrator

As our current Program Administrator transitions into a new role within the ministry, we are seeking a qualified individual to step into this vital leadership position. This isn’t just a job—it’s a ministry. The ideal candidate will approach their work with a servant’s heart, demonstrating both flexibility and a deep commitment to advancing the mission of Scripture memory for the glory of God.

Reports To: Executive Director

Summary of Position: Cultivate systematic Scripture memorizers by overseeing the administration of SMF’s various memory programs and initiatives.

Employment Type: Full-time

Work Location: 1930 Pendleton Drive, Garland, TX 75041

Compensation: Starting salary is commensurate with experience

Job Requirements

  • All SMF staff are expected to maintain a personal discipline of memorizing Scripture out of which they may warmly commend the value of God’s Word to others.
  • Agreement with SMF’s doctrinal statement (scripturememory.com/about)
  • Ability to travel to occasional live events
  • Ability to pass a background check

Necessary Skills & Experience

On-the-job training will be provided by SMF’s current Program Administrator to ensure a smooth transition. However, we are seeking a candidate with prior experience in project management and team leadership who can step confidently into a supervisory role.

  • Experience setting project goals, milestones, and deadlines
  • Experience managing a team and effectively delegating tasks
  • Proficiency with computers, especially Microsoft Office
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities and Duties

General

  • Contribute to the furtherance of SMF’s mission: “to cultivate systematic Scripture memorizers who know Jesus Christ and grow in His likeness for the glory of God.”

Project Management

  • Assist in the definition of project goals, milestones, and deadlines
  • Delegate project tasks to staff members best positioned to complete them
  • Ensure that each aspect of the project maintains a high standard of quality and professionalism

Program Development

  • Participate in the development of study material for new memory courses as needed
  • Coordinate with graphic designer(s) on the creation of new graphics and book layouts
  • Oversee the pre-press process for new publications, including layout work and proofreading
  • Oversee the development and distribution of quarterly newsletters

Communications

  • Oversee the development and scheduling of SMF’s email newsletters
  • Follow up with churches and other key contacts who express interest in SMF
  • Respond to general email inquiries as needed

Camp

  • Participate in the administration of Scripture Memory Camp throughout the year
  • Stay in contact with camp families to help them stay on track in their memory work
  • Serve as a camp teacher as needed

The Scripture Memory Podcast

  • Research topics for new episodes and prepare scripts/outlines
  • Oversee the timing and scheduling of recorded episodes
  • Stay apprised of best practices for podcasting to ensure this component of our ministry stays fresh and engaging
  • Provide general feedback and guidance to the Digital Ministry Coordinator regarding SMF’s YouTube channel

Website

  • Oversee the development of new web pages, forms, etc. by the Digital Ministry Coordinator
  • Compose occasional blog posts for scripturememory.com and VerseLocker

Advertising

  • Identify appropriate advertising opportunities for consideration by the Executive Director
  • Pursue approved advertising initiatives and ensure all creative material (graphics, audio, etc.) is submitted by the deadline
  • Monitor the overall effectiveness and value of significant advertising campaigns
  • Ensure that SMF’s publications are actively, strategically, and creatively promoted via whole-list emails, The Scripture Memory Podcast, social media, newsletters, and other means

Live Events

  • Represent SMF at conferences and conventions
  • You may occasionally be asked to represent SMF at special live events hosted by a third-party. This may include camps, retreats, or church services with an emphasis on Scripture memory.

Miscellaneous

  • Phone duty as needed
  • Access data entry as needed
  • Perform other tasks as assigned
Administrative Assistant

Reports To: Office Manager

Summary of Position: Cultivate systematic Scripture memorizers by assisting in the administration of SMF's headquarters office.

Employment Type: Part-time

Hours: Approximately 18 hours per week on average. More hours may become available over time.

Work Location: 1930 Pendleton Drive, Garland, TX 75041

Compensation: $20/hour

Job Requirements

  • All SMF staff are expected to maintain a personal discipline of memorizing Scripture out of which they may warmly commend the value of God’s Word to others.
  • Agreement with SMF’s doctrinal statement (scripturememory.com/about)
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Basic computer skills

Responsibilities and Duties

Order Fulfillment

  • Pack and ship orders of Scripture memory resources
  • Enter orders and donations in Access
  • Print and bind booklets using in-house equipment
  • Answer incoming phone calls as needed
  • Prepare daily sales reports for SMF’s bookkeeper

Communications

  • Call and thank new donors
  • Reply to general email inquiries

Administrative

  • Assist in making travel arrangements for SMF staff
  • Proofread whole-list emails, web pages, blog posts, etc.

Janitorial

  • General cleaning of the office and warehouse, keeping them maintained and in good condition
  • Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors
  • Collect and dispose of trash
  • Keep cleaning supplies in stock
  • Rearrange boxes in warehouse as needed

Miscellaneous

  • Run errands to pick up office supplies, make local deliveries, etc.
  • Prepare supplies for SMF newsletter mailings
  • Pick up mail from P.O. box
  • Prepare supplies for annual camp (nametags, notebooks, etc.)
  • Gather inventory for homeschool conventions and prepare shipments
  • Manage SMF’s paper filing system
  • Keep order fulfillment area well-stocked with commonly ordered products
  • Prepare inventory and supplies for Scripture Memory Camp
  • Other duties as assigned
